We love welcoming new missionaries to Norway! This week we welcomed 4 elders and 2 sisters! I told them that they arrived at the perfect time of year. Winter in Norway is magical! We even had snow on the ground for an added touch!
Our missionaries have arrived!
After arriving at the mission home and feeding everyone, we inform them of their first area and companion. It is fun to watch their excitement! Sister Peterson is headed to Tromsø where the days are short but she will see the Northern lights!
Elder Rogers and Elder Mathews….
Elder Johnson, Elder Sadler, Sister Earl, Sister Peterson, Elder Rogers, and Elder Mathews…..their first assignments and companions!
Getting bedding…
The Elders learning how to put the covers on the dynes…..
Writing home….
Training from Sister Brostrom…
Lunch…learning how to make hot dogs the Norwegian way from Elder Broadbent!
Elder Daly may or may not have had 5 pieces of pumpkin cake with caramel sauce (sometimes with ice cream) over a two day period….Oh, and it tasted better than it looked. We cannot get spray PAM in Norway and sometimes all the greasing and flouring of a bundt pan still does not work!
Loading up….
Elder Johnson heading to Drammen with his trainer Elder Jefferies…
After 21 hours in the country, they are off to their first areas.
And…we are going to miss Elder Norman. He is going home to get some medical help. He has served in Kristiansand with Elder Hall and in Drammen with Elder Jefferies. Ha det bra!!
And the day would not be complete if someone did not take a selfie on my camera…..
What bright, happy missionaries you have there! So good to see Elder Rogers looking so happy. (and not too exhausted!) Thanks for posting these photos!
great photos Ian. Please say “Hello” to the Montenares and all the other saints in Kristensan. We served there for 6 months. Glad to see that you arrived safely and are well and happy in your assignment. You will hear a little Danish down there. Love, Grandpa and FarMor

Missionaries. God speed Elder Norman! Prayers are with you!
Hey, Elder Broadbent’s teeth still look pretty straight! *Whew* 😉 (Thanks for helping him take care of his retainer.)
